State Parks in Montana

There are a ton of different state parks in Montana. One of them is Lost Creek State Park. It is located in Missoula, Montana. At this state park you can see the most beautiful scenery, including 50 foot drops, canyons, granite formations, cliffs and more. You can also see wildlife like mountain goats and sheep. The park is 500 acres with 25 sites to offer. The space is limited, so you have to get there in time.

Another state park is the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in Fort Smith, Montana. This area is over 70,000 acres and part of it is in Wyoming. You can go fishing, hiking, camping and more in the park. You will see ducks, geese and many other animals. The camping here is great as there are a few different campsites within this park. There is the Afterbay, Black Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Medicine Creek and Trail Creek Campgrounds. Each of them is unique and has different things to offer.

The first state park in Montana, and one of the most well known, is the Lewis and Clark Cavern State Park. You can walk through caves and pretend you are going back in time. You can see a lot of history, geography and ecology. The caves are nice and cool through natural effects. If you do not like being in an enclosed space, you can also go hiking, walk the trails, have a picnic or sit around a campfire. You can also go walk the Jefferson River or go fishing.
