There are many state parks dotting the countryside in the state of Montana. No matter where you go in the state, you are never very far from one of their beautiful state parks. The parks are rich with historical sites, fantastic fishing holes and archeological wonders that are well worth your time.
There are a lot of parks with very interesting names including Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. There is a magnificent campgrounds at Whitetail Creek, and La Hood Park. Close to La Hood is the Jefferson Slough. The park gets very little rain and has summer temperatures in the 80’s and winter ones in the 30’s. Evenings are cold in winter and quite cool in the summer. It is an exceptional state park if you want to enjoy the wilderness and nature.
In the Absaroka Range is Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park. Close by, waiting to be explored, are Spring Creek and Dillon Gulch. Again, a lot of natural wonders and things of nature are in abundance in this state park that offers fun for everyone.
Another park with an interesting name is Rosebud Battlefield State Park. A short distance from Rosebud is Long Coulee and Lower Indian Creek Reservoir. It will take you more than a day to see everything worth seeing in and around Rosebud Battlefield State Park. There are a number of creek and streams that feed into the reservoir and all are interesting to visit. So plan a trip to Montana next summer and visit some of their majestic, fantastic, beautiful state parks. You won’t regret it.
