RVing in New Mexico can provide an exciting and adventurous trip. There are hundreds of things to do and see, including activities that are great for all ages. Not only does New Mexico have plenty of attractions, the landscape is beautiful and provides many wondrous sites to visitors to see.
The Santa Fe area campgrounds close during the non-camping season (from November to March). Outdoor activities are plentiful. Horseback riding can show visitors some beautiful countryside. There are many stables for the horses both pubic owned as well as privately owned. One of the most scenic rides you can take is in the lower hills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There are other outdoor activities such as water rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking, and off-road jeep driving. Other things of interest might also be shopping, going to museum or attending the mineral spring spa.
Albuquerque is also a great place to go RVing. You can visit the Rio Grande Zoo which covers 64 acres and has both exotic and native animals. The zoo has over 250 species and very modern exhibit designs. There are many other museums to visit, plenty of camping, and a very large hot air balloon festival held in October.
In Ruidoso, there are many places to stay as well. Some of these are RV Parks, campgrounds, and cabins. Available are such activities as backpacking, ATV trails, golfing, skiing, snowboarding, and shopping. This camping area is also friendly to kids and pets.
