Venezuela On A Budget

Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, is a rather crowded and pricey city. There are many things to see there, such as as museums, theaters, etc. but accommodations that are reasonably priced are hard to find. However, Venezuela has a rich diversity of places to see that can be done on a budget and the entire family can have a terrific time.

Venezuela is very ecologically diverse, from the Amazon jungle to the Andean peaks and Caribbean beaches. So if you would like to hike, swim, parasail, or snorkel, this is your place to be. You can find reasonable accommodations in a budget hotel anywhere between $7-$15. However, check out the hotel to ensure that you are pleased with the room before booking it. Some areas of Venezuela do not have the same standards for accommodations that you might be used to.

In most cases, you can tour Venezuela for approximately $20-$50 per day. The currency in Venezuela is the Bolivar, but they do accept major credit cards. Of course, if you use an ATM machine, you will get your money in Venezuela's currency. In larger areas, there is a good transportation system so that you can travel around by yourself with a good map. If you have friends who are native to the country, this is the best way. It will be much easier to get around with some direction.

One of the main attractions in Venezuela is Angel Falls, which drops 3300 feet in the Canaima National Park. It is the largest waterfall in the world. What is really good for the traveler is the fact that most of the places are within easy reach of a bus ride that takes perhaps an hour or so and is inexpensive.

If you like diversity and want to see a country that seems to have just about everything within its borders, try out Venezuela. You won't be disappointed.
