RV Parks in the Southwest

The Southwest region for RV parks consists of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. All of these states have national, state, and private RV parks, and most are open year round. The private parks are RV clubs such as KOA and SAMI, which require a membership in some cases. The parks that require a membership give discounts to their guests. If you are not a member, you can stay at a facility, but you will pay a hirer price. When considering going on a RV trip, it is better to plan ahead and get information from the Game and Wildlife Office and Park and Recreation office.

The best place to go to with a RV depends on what you are interested in. There are great places for those who want to see wildlife, lakes and streams, geological sites or history. The Grand Canyon is a great place to go with a RV since it has many parks surrounding it. The canyon offers mule trail rides, water rapids, and has interesting rock formations. The history of the canyon and the surrounding Indian Tribes can also be viewed.

If you are interested in caves, Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico is a must-see. On the way to the caverns, you might pass through the Chihuahuan Desert and the Guadalupe Mountains, and see all kinds of vegetation and desert wildlife. At the caverns, you can go walk through about eight acres of different caves. There are several different activities to do here, such as hiking and watching the bats flying at dusk.
