Texas State Parks

There are more than 100 sites that cover 600,000 acres. in this big state, you can find just about any thing you could imagine in Texas state parks. Rivers, mountains, hiking trails, horseback riding, and swimming are all available, and most of the parks are only one hour from major cities.

You can enjoy their beautiful campsites many with modern facilities and full hookups for campers and motor homes. Texas State Parks have swings and play grounds for the little ones. You can enjoy many of their attractions, lots of history and other events. You can see a lot of colorful rocks, wildlife deer, elk and many more.

Texas State Parks offer scuba diving, boating, water skiing, or just relaxing and reading about this great State. Texas also offers free fishing areas in which the State Parks have waived the normal fishing license and stamp requirements for anyone fishing inside the property boundary of a State Park. There will also be fishing events throughout the year to add to the excitement from kids’ fishing derbies to learn to fish seminars. Some parks even provide loaner equipment and bait.
