Visit Wyoming and see for yourself how well this state’s slogan holds true. Wyoming has many state parks full of activities all year round. Gorgeous mountains serve as back drops to many lakes that are filled with a multitude of species of fish; bass, trout, salmon-the list goes on. Every outdoor activity you can imagine is available at these parks, from rafting, water skiing, nature trails, cross country skiing and roller blading to racing your remote controlled car across the terrain. Many of these parks offer Recreational Vehicle (RV) access. Camping availability dates differ from park to park. While many campsites are by reservation only, others are first come, first served. Some offer very rustic environments, others offer developed campsites with cement pads, picnic tables and restrooms. A number of parks have very homey accommodations, including lodges, motels, marinas and museums. Try an Internet search of Wyoming State Parks with RV access or similar terms to investigate the park that best suits your adventure.
Wildlife overflows in these parks; black bears, big horn sheep, deer, moose, elk, bald eagles, wild turkeys - the list is endless. Wyoming is ideal to unleash the nature lover in all of us. View the first national monument named in North America - Devils Tower. Devils Tower is a dramatic rock formation, erecting from the earth some 1,267 feet in the air. Investigate the ruts that remain from the settlers heading west on the Oregon Trail over 150 years ago.
Fees are required at nearly all Wyoming State Parks, residents of the state pay a slightly smaller fee than non-residents. Remember, fees are trivial in comparison to seeing the state “Like no place on earth.”
